Project Overview
In 2022, Durham University appointed HLA Services to deliver comprehensive service, maintenance, and repair support across a wide range of mechanical assets, including air conditioning systems, chillers, and air handling units.
The contract spans 56 sites, requiring a consistent, responsive, and highly organised approach to ensure all systems operate efficiently and reliably within a busy university environment.
Key Works Delivered
Dedicated on-site engineering team – Four fully qualified engineers permanently based on-site, providing continuous support across all university facilities
Comprehensive asset coverage – Planned and reactive maintenance for air conditioning systems, chillers, and air handling units across 56 locations
Rapid response capability – Additional engineers deployed as required, either from HLA Services’ offices or directly from their field locations using GPS tracking to ensure swift attendance
Out-of-hours support – Emergency response services available outside standard working hours to maintain operational continuity
Ongoing contract management – Structured maintenance planning, reporting, and compliance checks to ensure optimal system performance and longevity
